Emma Carol Hayes, OBE, better known as Emma Hayes, is an English professional soccer coach. She is currently coaching the Chelsea FC of the WSL but is all set to leave the club following the 2023 season.

Born and raised in Camden, London, Emma attended Parliament Hill School, where she played soccer for her school team. 

Initially intending to be a professional player, Hayes joined Arsenal Academy in her teens. Unfortunately, she quit playing soccer after suffering an ankle injury when she was seventeen.

The English professional soccer coach Emma Hayes has never revealed if she is married. Currently 48-year-old, Hayes still says she is single and is not dating anyone.

She announced her pregnancy in December 2017, but unfortunately, she also revealed that one of her twin kids, Albie, died just after 28 weeks of pregnancy. Later, in May 2018, she gave birth to her son, Harry.

Currently five years old, Harry has recently started school, so her move to the U.S. would not affect his education.

For Hayes, family comes above everything, and she wants to offer everything good to the only kid she has.

After her dream of becoming a pro athlete was cut short following an injury, Emma focused on academics and earned her undergraduate degree in 1999. She did her Master’s in Intelligence and International Affairs from Liverpool Hope University.

However, soccer was always a priority for her, so she began her coaching journey in 2001.

She stayed in the United States for around six years, coaching teams such as Iona Gaels until she assumed the post of assistant coach and academy director for Arsenal Ladies in 2006.

Hayes eventually joined the Chelsea FC Women in 2012, establishing herself as one of the most successful managers in the club’s history. Under her leadership, the club lifted 15 major trophies, including 6 WSL titles and 5 Women’s F.A. Cup.
