Evan Carter, born on August 29, 2002, hails from Elizabethton, Tennessee, and currently plays for the Texas Rangers in Major League Baseball (MLB).
Carter played baseball at Elizabethton High School for three seasons and earned recognition as an All-Conference player.
After his sophomore year, Carter was offered a place to play college baseball at Duke University, which he accepted.
During his junior year, Carter had an impressive season with a batting average of .324, four home runs, 27 RBIs, a 10-2 record with a 1.34 ERA, and six complete games as a pitcher.
Unfortunately, the COVID-19 pandemic cut his senior season short, and he played in only three games.
Carter was selected by the Texas Rangers in the second round (50th overall) of the 2020 MLB draft.
In 2022, Carter received the Texas Rangers’ Tom Grieve Player of the Year and the minor league Rawlings Gold Glove Award.
