Elijah Patrick Mobley, a 16-year-old from Indianapolis, tragically lost his life in a single-vehicle crash on May 11, 2025.
According to a news release, officers responded to the accident around 5 a.m. near Old Plank Road and Carlisle Street in Bargersville, Indiana.
Mobley, the driver, had struck a residential garage, though the exact circumstances leading to the crash remain under investigation.
It is suspected that alcohol may have been a factor in the accident, as an open container was found in the vehicle. However, toxicology reports are still pending at this time.
The Bargersville police are working to determine the cause, while the coroner’s office has yet to confirm the official cause and manner of death.

Eli Mobley was a football player at Boiling Springs High School in Spartanburg, South Carolina.
He played as a wide receiver for the varsity team and was part of the Class of 2025, showcasing his performances against teams like Mauldin High School, Greer High School, and Dutch Fork High School.
Moreover, he played against other teams such as Spartanburg High School, Gaffney High School, and Dorman High School.
Additionally, Eli was involved in baseball and had a player profile on Perfect Game USA, indicating his participation in competitive baseball events.
He was listed as a third baseman and had played for the Dirtbags Prime 13u team.
