William ‘Bill’ Tierney Jr., a Cleveland, Ohio native and former athlete, passed away peacefully on November 23, 2025, at 74, leaving his family and loved ones devastated.

While his family has not yet disclosed the details surrounding his passing, William’s wife of 55 years, Suzanne Valenti Tierney, took to her social media to express her sorrow at losing her longtime husband.

The post reads:

“It is with a heavy and very hurt heart that I share on Sunday morning Bill held my hand, squeezed it tight and with a wink, he went home to our father in heaven. He fought the good fight but the Lord needed a superhero so he took him home. We had an incredible love story, and I was happy to share our life with all of you. I just want to say the support of love and prayers is beyond our imagination and with a grateful heart, I say thank you. Keep those you love close to you and hug them each day because in a wink things could change.”
