David ‘Dave’ Richard Lampe, a longtime resident of Henderson, Nevada, and former athlete, passed away on Monday, September 1, 2025, leaving his longtime wife and family heartbroken.

According to his obituary page, the death of David Richard Lampe at the untimely age of 62 followed a long and courageous battle with cancer.

David touched the lives of many with his athletic journey and his contribution to the community as an entrepreneur and real estate agent.

Born on March 2, 1963, in Sturgis, Michigan, to parents Donald R. Lampe and the late Lois L. Crowl Lampe, David began his athletic journey at a very young age.

He attended Sturgis High School, where he was a multi-sports athlete earning eight varsity letters.

Similarly, David Richard Lampe was a proud member of Troop 402, an Eagle Scout, and an avid golfer who enjoyed spending time on the course.

After graduating from Sturgis High School in 1981, David continued his education at Glen Oaks Community College in Centerville, earning his associate degree before graduating from Eastern Michigan University with a bachelor’s degree in manufacturing.

Late David Richard Lampe Pursued His Career as An Entrepreneur and Real Estate Agent

Although David Lampe didn’t pursue a professional career in sports, he made an impression on the community as an exceptional real estate agent, sales manager, and entrepreneur.

After graduating from Eastern Michigan University, David relocated to Arizona in the late 80s and later to Nevada, where he spent the rest of his life.

While in Nevada, David built his reputation as an entrepreneur with a diverse career that included roles in service and production management, sales, and real estate.

He served as the sales executive at Coldwell Banker Premier and a Sales consultant at Holiday Inn Club Vacations.

In addition to his amazing career, David Richard was a great husband to his longtime wife, Susan Jacoby Lamper, a patient care coordinator at Southwest Medical Associates.

The couple were happily married for 21 years, having tied the knot on December 13, 2003. Dave often shared pictures of his longtime wife, Susan, expressing his love and pride for her.

In addition to his longtime wife, David Richard Lampe is survived by his loving father, Donald R. Lampe of Sturgis, Michigan, sister, Darcy (Jon) Hill of Columbus, Indiana, nephews and niece: Jeffrey Herman and Danny (Kayla) Herman of Sturgis, Alexandra Hill of Columbus, Indiana, Jacob Hill of Indianapolis, Indiana as well as two great-nephews and one great-niece.

David Richard Lampe was preceded in death by his mother, Lois Lampe, and his older sister, Diana R. Lampe Munn.

His mother, Lois Lampe, passed away on March 19, 2019, at the age of 82 at Glenn Arbor Hospice Residence in Battle Creek, Michigan.
