Harrisburg, Pennsylvania, community is mourning the untimely death of beloved native and former athlete, Miles Williams
Miles Williams passed away earlier this week, howerver his family hasn’t yet disclosed the details surrounding his untimely death.
A native of Pennsylvania, Miles Williams touched the lives of many in the community with his amazing athletic skills, excelling in high school and collegiate football.
He began his football journey at Bishop McDevitt High School, from which he graduated in 2012.
Wearing jersey #4 and playing as both wide receiver and defensive back, Miles Williams led his high school varsity boys’ football team in several victories and won several honorable titles throughout his journey.
In 2011, he was named First Team All-Mid Penn Keystone at Defensive Back; he also won the honorable titles, including First Team Patriot News Big 11.
Furthermore, Miles was selected to play in the Big 33 Football Classic and starred on a team that won two straight District III titles and made two straight AAA state final appearances.
Miles further led his high school team in interceptions (three) as a junior and led the secondary in tackles (54) and pass breakups (11) as a senior.
Additionally, Miles Williams excelled in track and field and was a district qualifier in the 100-meter dash and 4×100 relay team as a junior.
Late Miles Williams Continued His Athletic Career at Bloomsburg Commonwealth University
After his remarkable career at Bishop McDevitt High School, Miles Williams continued his football journey, attending Bloomsburg Commonwealth University.
The late Miles Williams built a steady and reliable collegiate football career as a defensive back for the Bloomsburg Huskies.
Williams redshirted during the 2012 season, using the year to develop his skills and adjust to the collegiate level.
He made his on-field debut in 2014, appearing in all 13 games during his first season of action.
Serving primarily in a reserve role, he recorded 10 total tackles, including seven solo stops, and made an immediate impact in the secondary.
His early highlights included three solo tackles against Shippensburg and a strong first collegiate performance against Stonehill, where he added a tackle and broke up two passes.
In 2015, Williams’ role expanded significantly as he saw action in all 11 games and earned five starts in the Huskies’ secondary.
He finished the season with 23 total tackles, 16 of them solo, along with one interception and one pass breakup.
One of the defining moments of his season came in a road win at California (PA), where he recorded his first collegiate interception.
Throughout the year, he delivered consistent performances against conference opponents, showing versatility and discipline in coverage.
Williams closed his career in 2016 by appearing in 10 games and earning a start in the final contest of the season at IUP.
He totaled eight tackles and added another pass breakup, with his most productive outing coming against Kutztown, where he posted a season-high three tackles.
His final season reflected the same dependable presence that marked his career—prepared, composed, and team-first.
While at Bloomsburg University, Miles also served as a program assistant and instructional technology graduate assistant.
Furthermore, after earning his Bachelor of Science in Digital Forensics and Master of Science in Instructional Technology from Commonwealth University-Bloomsburg, Miles Williams continued his career as a training and communication developer and Sr. Specialist at The Hershey Company, where he served for over six years.
Prior to his untimely death, Miles Williams was serving as an instructional designer at Uiversity of Maryland, a position he held since 2023.
Simultaneously, he served as a realtor and salesperson at Howard Hanna Real Estate Services.
Miles Williams’ untimely death has left a profound void in the lives of his family, friends, and loved ones.
