The community of Excelsior Springs is mourning the tragic death of Wyatt Speakman.

Wyatt Speakman was a high school football player who represented Excelsior Springs High School in Missouri.

A member of the Class of 2028, Wyatt played on a varsity football team as a sophomore and wore jersey number 66.

He was officially added to the team’s roster on May 27, 2024, which showcased his dedication and potential at a young age.

In a notable game on October 27, 2023, Wyatt’s team faced Kirksville, finishing with a final score of 13-28.

Wyatt Speakman Tragically Passed Away In A Car Accident

As per the reports, Wyatt Speakman died in a tragic car accident on Tuesday, June 10, 2025, at 18.

However, the reason behind the accident has not been revealed as the investigation is ongoing.

Local Pulse Media took to their official Facebook handle to announce the tragic news. They wrote,

We are heartbroken to announce the passing of Wyatt Speakman, a beloved resident of Kansas, who has sadly passed away following an accident. Wyatt was cherished by many for his kind-hearted spirit and ability to create meaningful connections with all those around him. The sudden loss has affected both his community in Excelsior Springs and his home state of Kansas deeply. Wyatt Speakman Is Survived By His Parents And Three Siblings

Wyatt Speakman was born in 2007 to his father, Chris Speakman, and his mother, Monica Zabokrtsky Smith. They always supported Wyatt in achieving his athletic dreams.

Tragically, his parents separated, and Monica later married Jay Smith on September 10, 2016.

Recently, on June 14, 2025, Monica took to her official Facebook handle and posted a photo of Wyatt as a tribute.

In the comment section, close ones and relatives poured their heartfelt condolences. One user wrote,

Wyatt’s sister Taylor lives in Pittsburg, Kansas, and shares two children, Amora Rose and Amaya Mae, with her husband.
