The sudden and unexpected death of Thomas Michael Pratt on October 30, 2025, has deeply saddened his family, friends, and the entire community.

A six-year-old boy brought joy to many people with his bright smile and endless energy.

His death has created a great loss, but his story of happiness, curiosity, and kindness continues to inspire everyone who knew him.

A Bright Beginning and a Loving Family

Thomas was born on June 26, 2019, to his devoted parents, Dave and Erin Cain. He grew up alongside his beloved sister, Maggie Mae Pratt, in a home filled with love and laughter.

Thomas is survived by his sister, parents, grandparents, great-grandparents, and many other family members who cherished him deeply.

From a young age, he was the light of their lives, always ready with a hug or a silly joke to brighten the day.

Thomas’s happiness was truly contagious. He brought warmth and excitement wherever he went.

As an aspiring magician, he delighted in performing tricks for his family and friends. He was a role model for his younger cousins, often leading them in playful adventures.

At school, he thrived among his classmates and excelled as a teammate on his t-ball, basketball, and soccer teams.

You could often find him tussling with his cousins or curled up with his mom, reading two books before bed, he had developed a genuine love for stories early on.

This self-proclaimed “cat guy” adored cozy moments, nestling into a blanket fort to watch shows or movies with his family.

Golfing was another favorite pastime; he loved hitting the course with his dad and uncles, where he was starting to unleash the power of his “Tommy juice” with impressive swings.

When he wasn’t at home, Thomas was likely at his Grandma and Grandpa Pratt’s house, building elaborate Lego kits, or exploring the beach at his Grandy and Papa’s, hunting for dinosaur fossils and colorful lake glass.

His endless curiosity drove him to soak up every bit of life, from listening to his daily podcast, “Super Great Kids Stories,” to creating his own tales.

Thomas possessed numerous excellent qualities and interests, making it impossible to list them all. He was friendly, imaginative, and always eager to learn something new.

Whether he was scoring goals on the field or sharing a quiet storytime, he made every moment special.

In his final hours, Thomas gave the ultimate gift. He became an organ donor, and his heart, liver, and kidneys have already saved and improved the lives of at least four people.

Even in the face of this heartbreaking loss, Thomas’s light shines on, making the world a better place through his selfless act.

His family finds comfort in knowing that his generosity lives on.

Instead of flowers, the family asks that anyone with children in their life sign up for and support the “Super Great Kids Stories” podcast.

It’s a fitting tribute to Thomas’s passion for storytelling and a way to keep his spirit alive in the hearts of other kids.

Thomas Pratt’s Death Led to a Quick Response of Love, Prayers, and Financial Support for his Family.

A GoFundMe page was set up by his great-aunt and great-uncle, Henry and Katrina Antonovich, with a goal of $60,000 to ease the family’s burdens during this difficult time.

So far, more than $51,000 has been raised, thanks to the generosity of donors who want to honor Thomas’s memory.

Heartfelt messages have flooded in. Kira Huante, a former teacher, wrote:

“So very sad. Thomas was a student of mine a few years ago. He will be so missed. Thinking of the family during this god awful time.”

These tributes show how much of an impact Thomas made on those around him in his brief life.

A brief service will be held at Holy Family in Essex at 3:00 p.m. on Friday, November 7, 2025, followed by a celebration of life next door until 7:00 p.m. All are welcome to attend and share in remembering this extraordinary child.

The Pratt family has expressed immense gratitude for the support they’ve received.

Though their hearts are broken, they take solace in the beautiful memories Thomas left behind and the lives he continues to touch.

Thomas Pratt’s death is a reminder of how fragile life can be, but his legacy of kindness, adventure, and giving will endure forever. He was, and always will be, a super great kid.
