Hall of Famer multi-sport coach Tom R. Seifert passed away on Sunday afternoon, October 26, 2025, at the age of 69, at his home in Fairmont.

So far, details surrounding his demise remain concealed. Tom is survived by his wife, Kris, and his extended family members.

Tom Seifert had a long and dedicated career in education and athletics at Fairmont High School in Minnesota.

He worked as a custodian for many years, helping keep the school clean and safe for students and staff until he retired in 2023 after 25 years of service.

Beyond his daily job, Tom poured his heart into coaching, serving as an assistant coach for the varsity football team.

Likewise, he assisted the varsity baseball team, including during the 1993 season, when they reached the state runner-up spot under coach Mike Katzenmeyer, and later under coach Jerry Brooks.

In the summers, Tom gave back to the community by coaching in local Kiwanis, VFW, and American Legion baseball programs, mentoring young players, and building team spirit.

Eventually, his passion for sports and service earned him a spot on the Fairmont Athletic Hall of Fame committee, alongside leaders like Mat Mahoney.
