The search continues for 14-year-old Anthony Autry, who has been missing since October 21, 2025, after reportedly stepping outside to take out the trash at his foster home in Cumberland County, North Carolina.

His sudden disappearance has left his family, friends, and community heartbroken, and advocates are urging the public to help spread the word.

Anthony’s aunt, Marie Horan, took to social media to plead for help, sharing her nephew’s photo and an emotional message:

“This is my nephew, Anthony Walter. Please, please, please share his picture and help bring him home. He is wanted and loved. Please have him call his foster mom or tell him to go home. If you see him or know anything, call me at 302-438-7572.”

Facebook

The heartfelt post has drawn hundreds of responses and prayers from concerned individuals across the country.

I’ve been asking my son everyday has Anthony been in class since we’ve heard! I can’t believe this!!! Anthony is such a talented basketball player and has been friends with my son for years! I prayer he is found and returns safely! Please protect him Jesus!!!

Commenters have offered words of hope and support, urging basketball player Anthony to return home safely.

You’re a very happy-looking young man, please go home to the people who love you,” wrote one user.

Others have shared his photo nationwide, hoping greater visibility will lead to answers.

According to A Voice For The Voiceless, Inc., Anthony is a Black male with sandy-colored hair (though some close to him say his hair is closer to black) and brown eyes.

He stands 5 feet tall and weighs approximately 103 pounds. The Fayetteville Police Department is currently handling the investigation, and his disappearance was officially reported on October 22, 2025.

Authorities urge anyone with information about his whereabouts to contact the Fayetteville Police Department at 910-433-1529.

Time is critical in cases like these, and even the smallest tip could help bring Anthony home.

Social media advocates like Ebonie Marie Baxter have raised concerns about the lack of media coverage surrounding Anthony’s disappearance.

How does a child in the system just disappear — and there’s barely any coverage? No Amber Alert. No breaking news,” Baxter wrote.

“If it was someone else’s child, this would be everywhere. Anthony matters. His life matters. His story matters.”

Facebook

Many agree that cases involving foster children often receive less attention, and advocates are demanding equal urgency and visibility.

Posts calling for awareness continue to circulate on platforms like Facebook and X, emphasizing the importance of community involvement in locating missing children.

As the search enters another week, Anthony’s family remains hopeful that someone will come forward with information.

They continue to ask the public to share his photo, spread his story, and stay alert for any sign of him.

Anyone who sees Anthony or knows where he might be is urged to call the Fayetteville Police Department immediately at 910-433-1529.
