Tim Cossins and his wife have shared a lifelong bond that began in the fourth grade.
Timothy Carter Cossins, born March 31, 1970, has built an impressive career in professional baseball spanning multiple decades.
A native of Santa Rosa, California, Cossins laid the foundation for his baseball journey at Santa Rosa High School before advancing to Santa Rosa Junior College.
His talent and dedication eventually earned him a spot on the Oklahoma Sooners baseball team at the University of Oklahoma.
Though initially selected by the Pittsburgh Pirates in the 45th round of the 1992 MLB draft, Cossins opted to continue his education.
The Texas Rangers later drafted him in the 16th round of the 1993 MLB draft, launching his professional playing career that lasted until 2000.

Following his playing days, Cossins transitioned seamlessly into coaching.
He spent four years as a minor league manager for the Miami Marlins before advancing to become their minor league catching coordinator in 2007.
His expertise caught the attention of the Chicago Cubs, who hired him as their minor league field coordinator after the 2012 season.
Cossins’ reputation in player development continued to grow, leading to his appointment with the Baltimore Orioles in 2018, where he joined Brandon Hyde’s coaching staff as major league field coordinator and catching instructor.
His tenure with the Orioles came to an end on May 17, 2025, when both he and manager Brandon Hyde were relieved of their duties amid a challenging 15-28 start to the season.
Tim Cossins Celebrates Every Milestone With His Wife Lori
Tim Cossins’ professional accomplishments are complemented by a strong family foundation anchored by his wife, Lori Bastoni-Cossins.
Their connection runs remarkably deep, with Tim revealing in a March 2021 social media post that they’ve known each other since the fourth grade.
Their relationship stands as a testament to enduring love, with the couple celebrating anniversaries each November, as noted in Tim’s heartfelt November 29, 2017, post:
“Happy anniversary to my beautiful wife. Proud to be on this ride with you. I can’t wait to see what comes next.”

Lori is an accomplished professional in her own right, balancing dual careers as a self-employed interior designer/space planner since September 2015 and as a hairstylist at R.E.L. Salon since October 2017.
Her creativity and business acumen complement Tim’s baseball expertise, creating a dynamic partnership that has weathered the unique challenges of a life in professional sports.
Tim’s admiration for Lori shines through in his annual birthday tributes. In March 2020, he wrote:
“Sometimes you just get flat out lucky! I did the day I ran back into this Funny, smart, driven, talented, kind, fair, gritty, Loyal and shockingly beautiful game changer.”

This sentiment captures the profound respect and love that characterizes their relationship.
The couple’s strength was particularly evident during the devastating Northern California wildfires of October 2017.
While their son Aiden, then 19 and a recent high school graduate, served as a volunteer firefighter helping to evacuate a retirement home, Tim and Lori opened their Santa Rosa home to two displaced families – one dealing with damage to their house and another couple from Napa who lost everything.
Tim and Lori continue to call Santa Rosa home, maintaining their roots in the community where they both grew up.
Their partnership showcases how love, mutual respect, and shared values can create a strong foundation amidst the demanding lifestyle of professional sports.
As Tim expressed in his 2019 birthday message to Lori: “To the one who makes me better,” acknowledging her pivotal role in both his personal and professional journey.
