The former professional boxer Floyd Mayweather’s ex-girlfriend, Josie Harris, is the mother to three of his four kids. Harris passed away on March 10, 2020, after an accidental drug overdose.

Mayweather and his history with violence isn’t new, and Harris was one of his many victims.

In 2018, the famous boxer said he wasn’t paying much attention to the Me Too movement. He joked that he only uses those words when someone says they’ve got a Rolls Royce, and the boxer replies, “Me too.”

But recently, it wasn’t Floyd who attacked someone. The boxer had been attacked in the street while he was shopping in Central London.

After Mayweather voiced his support for Israel in the Israel-Palestine conflict, a mob descended on the former champion.

In February 2024, during the launch of his vape brand in Vegas, Mayweather was confronted by another Palestinian group.

Mayweather has also been a guest of Israel’s Prime Minister, Netanyahu, and they had a private meeting to discuss Israel’s history.

In a USA Today article from 2014, Josie talked about her abusive relationship with Mayweather.

The two had already broken up, with Floyd never marrying her. The two were living separately when the interview was conducted. She said in the interview,

I don’t have to take a Xanax before he comes, otherwise I will be sweating bullets. For some reason I still anxiety when I know he is on his way.

Such was Josie’s life with Floyd. She confirmed to USA Today that she had suffered physical abuse from Floyd on six occasions.

In 2010, when Harris was asleep, Mayweather yanked her to the floor by her hair, then punched and kicked and screamed cuss words at her in front of their children.

Their oldest son, Koraun, informed the security guard to summon the police, and Mayweather was eventually sentenced to 90 days in prison.

Harris was working on publishing a book to share the story of her abuse at the hands of Floyd Mayweather.

Harris’s book “Undisputed Love: The Story of My Life with Floyd Mayweather Jr.” hit the shelf after her passing.

Harris first met Mayweather when she was 17, and he was 20. Josie described her relationship with Mayweather as a love story gone wrong.

Josie is the mother to one of Floyd’s daughters, Jirah Mayweather. In her interview, Josie said,

I wonder when he lays his head on that pillow at night, does he ever think about ‘you know I have got an 11-year-old beautiful little girl that is going to grow up and start dating men. Do I want her to start dating men like me?

Mayweather Paid Tribute To Harris On Her 41st Birthday

In 2021, on what would have been Josie’s 41st birthday, Floyd Mayweather visited the resting place of his former girlfriend.

The boxer posted a black and white picture of Harris to his Instagram page and captioned it, “My Angel in Heaven. Gone but never forgotten.” He has now deleted that post.

In April 2020, Mayweather opened up about the loss of Josie.

The boxer said, “As far as dealing with the loss of the mother of my children, she was a significant other, a great woman, a great person.”

Harris, who was mother to three of his kids- Koraun, Zion, and Jirah was found dead in a car outside of her California home.

The autopsy report later revealed that the 40-year-old died of an accidental overdose.

He also talked about Josie’s passing in his interview with FOX Soul.

In his interview, Floyd said, “For her [Josie] to come back, I’ll give everything away.

The interviewer also highlighted that Floyd pays for people’s funeral but doesn’t go to theirs, but he did go to that of Josie’s.

Mayweather said he had to be there and that Josie was a great woman.

Floyd also said he didn’t want people to throw dirt on Josie’s casket, so he got a mausoleum and a white casket that their daughter picked out.

The boxing legend said Josie’s passing did test his faith but Mayweather added he will continue to believe in God.
