Brett Gardner once shared that he and his brother, Glen, used to assist their parents with various tasks on their family farm.

A retired professional baseball player, Brett Gardner spent his entire 14-year Major League Baseball (MLB) career with the New York Yankees.

Born on August 24, 1983, in Holly Hill, South Carolina, he was known for his speed, defense, and leadership on the field.

Gardner was part of the Yankees’ 2009 World Series-winning team and earned an All-Star selection in 2015 and a Gold Glove Award in 2016.

Despite Brett Gardner’s Fame, His Brother Glen Gardner Has Remained Out Of The Spotlight!

Glen Gardner is Brett Gardner’s older brother. They grew up together on a sprawling 2,600-acre farm in Holly Hill, South Carolina.

Glen often helped his parents with farm duties alongside his brother, Brett. He played college baseball at the College of Charleston.

However, he didn’t pursue a professional baseball career. Despite this, he has been a constant source of support to his brother and has remained connected to sports and family life.

He remains private while often being spotted cheering for his brother.

Brett Gardner’s Son Miller Is Referred To As A Beloved Son And Brother!

Brett Gardner does not have a brother. He grew up in Holly Hill, South Carolina, with his parents, Jerry and Faye Gardner.

His father, Jerry, played baseball in college, which likely influenced Brett’s passion for the sport.

Brett is known to have a close-knit family, but there is no mention of him having a brother.

Recently, Brett Gardner and his family faced a tragic loss. His 14-year-old son, Miller Gardner, passed away unexpectedly during a family vacation in Costa Rica on March 21, 2025.

The exact cause of his death remains under investigation. Initially, it was suspected that he might have died from asphyxiation due to food poisoning, but this has since been ruled out.

The family experienced severe gastrointestinal symptoms after dining at a restaurant.

Toxicology, histology, and neuropathology tests are being conducted to determine the cause. Results are expected in a few months due to a backlog of cases in Costa Rica.

On the other hand, Brett has an older son named Hunter Gardner, who is 16 years old.

Hunter and his younger brother, Miller, were raised in South Carolina.

Hunter has been described as a loving sibling, and the family is currently mourning the tragic loss of Miller during their vacation in Costa Rica.

The family has received an outpouring of support from the Yankees organization and the broader baseball community.

In Case You Didn’t Know

  • Brett won the Fielding Bible, a prestigious defensive award, three times.
  • His speed made him a leader in hitting triples during the American League Triples 2013.
