Mack Rhoades is a former college athletics administrator who served as Baylor University’s Vice President and Director of Intercollegiate Athletics since 2016.
Recently, he resigned as Baylor’s Athletic Director on November 20, 2025, after being investigated for a sideline altercation with a player and assistant coach during a September football game.
The controversy centered on reports of both verbal and physical confrontations, which triggered internal probes and ultimately led to his leave of absence and resignation.
Additionally, he has also resigned as chair of the College Football Playoff selection committee.
Baylor emphasized that the allegations were unrelated to football program operations or NCAA compliance.

Mack Rhoades is married to Amy Rhoades, who has been a steady presence throughout his career in college athletics.
The couple first met while they were both undergraduates at the University of Arizona.
Amy originally planned to set Mack up with her sister, but quickly realized she had feelings for him herself.

Originally from Winslow, Arizona, she is now living in Houston, Texas, with her husband and three beautiful daughters, Nicolette, Natalie, and Noelle.
Amy has consistently been described as a supportive partner, accompanying him through major career moves from Akron to Houston, Missouri, and finally to Baylor.
Although Amy has largely stayed out of the public spotlight, she has long been recognized as a steady and supportive presence in Mack Rhoades’ life and career.
