Candace Murphy, who excelled academically and in extracurricular activities, including cheerleading, has passed away at the age of 59.
Murphy was the daughter of Joan Neville Murphy and the late Clarence M. “Coach” Murphy, a respected New Orleans educator and track coach.
She received her early education at Immaculate Heart of Mary School and later attended St. Elizabeth Seton Academy, where she was a cheerleader.
Later, she went on to attend Loyola University and graduated with honors from the University of New Orleans with a degree in English, Speech, and Drama.
Her professional journey started with Delta Air Lines, where she worked as a flight attendant and earned recognition for her excellence, including national exposure for demonstrating emergency evacuation procedures.
She earned her Juris Doctor in 1998 and went on to build a distinguished legal career, serving in roles including managing attorney, consultant, and adjunct professor.
Moreover, she was licensed to practice law in both Texas and Louisiana and contributed her expertise in both private practice and public service, including work with the U.S. Small Business Administration.

However, the cause of death has not been revealed yet.

I hope everyone in life has a friend who makes them laugh as much as Candace Murphy Sissac made me laugh.
Candace and I met in law school at Loyola University and became instant friends. What began there grew into a friendship that lasted more than 25 years—a bond built on friendship, laughter, honesty, and deep respect.
