Abbey Medcalf Cooler Was A Former Collegiate Cheerleader
To those who knew her, Abbey was a burst of sunshine, a woman who made you feel seen, loved, and included.
Her energy and enthusiasm were especially evident during her days as a cheerleader for the Gardner-Webb Runnin’ Bulldogs, where she lifted both spirits and teammates alike.
In a heartfelt tribute, the GWU Cheerleading team shared:
“She was always so bubbly and kind… always smiling and giving the best hugs. She flew high on the sidelines at GWU, but she is flying even higher now.”
For those lucky enough to call Abbey a friend, she was more than just supportive.
One of her college roommates recalled:
“You knew me before I knew myself… You were my safe place. Your love was fierce, just like your hugs. I learned how to be a friend by being loved by you.”
The stories shared by her close friends reflect a woman whose spirit was filled with joy, strength, and, above all, a heart for others.
Whether showing up unannounced in moments of need or texting a warm greeting at the crack of dawn, Abbey embodied the essence of selfless friendship.
Abbey Medcalf Cooler Was A Beloved Wife And Mother
Abbey’s deepest joy came from her role as a wife to Adam and mother to their miracle daughters.
She was a woman who chased after God’s heart, a faithful churchgoer, and someone whose life was a living testimony to grace and devotion.
A family friend wrote,
“She loved deep and wide just like Jesus does. You’ve shown your girls how to love the Lord deeply… You and Adam are a testament to a strong marriage.”
Even in death, Abbey’s powerful faith continues to ripple through the lives she touched.
As tributes continue to pour in, one thing is abundantly clear: her legacy will live on through her daughters, husband, and everyone who knew her.
One friend, heartbroken but faithful, summed it up best:
“You’re with Jesus now… but today, my heart hurts.”
Abbey’s life will be honored in a celebration of faith on Saturday, July 5th, at Burnt Hickory Baptist Church in Powder Springs, Georgia.
