Whittney Jeanne Pfefferkorn, 21, passed away unexpectedly on Saturday, July 26, 2025, due to injuries sustained in an ATV accident while visiting Colorado.
As of now, there is no publicly available information about the accident that led to her death; it seems that the investigation is ongoing.
Whittney Pfefferkorn Was a Passionate Athlete And an Aspiring Nurse!
Born on January 25, 2004, in Auburn, Indiana, Whittney Pfefferkorn was a 21-year-old nursing student from Hamilton, Indiana.
She graduated from Eastside High School in 2022, where she excelled in volleyball, basketball, and track.
Standing 5’6″, she wore jersey #22 and played as an outside hitter and right-side hitter on the varsity volleyball team.
In her senior season, she played 34 sets, recorded 17 kills with a .029 hitting percentage, added 25 digs, 9 assists, and averaged 0.3 assists per set.
She was active in sports throughout her school years and was also a 10-year member of DeKalb County’s 4-H program.
Ot the flip side, she was preparing to start her senior year at the University of St. Francis, working toward a nursing degree.
Additionally, she served as a Patient Care Technician in the Labor and Delivery Department at Cameron Health and had recently become a Student Nursing Apprentice.
Whittney also worked at Green Bean Coffee & Sweet Shop and attended Life Changing Church in Angola, Indiana.
Her sudden loss has deeply affected her family, friends, and the entire community.
The Hamilton Community Schools released a statement with a heartfelt tribute, which reads:
It is with great sadness that we mourn the passing of a former Hamilton student and recent Eastside graduate, Whittney Pfefferkorn. Whittney was truly a shining light and will be terribly missed by all that had the honor of knowing her. Our HCS family extends its deepest condolences, thoughts, and prayers during this unimaginable time.
One of Whittney Pfefferkorn’s closest friends expressed deep sorrow over her passing, saying:
Whittney was truly an angel here on earth. She lived life well and she loved well. She had the sweetest laugh and giggle. Her smile lit up the room. She was kind, gentle, caring, loving, thoughtful, patient, and all of the most wonderful things a human could be. She brought our family closer together. She was Dylan’s whole world…She will always be in our thoughts and hearts for the rest of our lives…

What devastating news. I’m so sorry for your loss. It sounds like she made a great impact on many lives! Prayers lifted up for all the loved ones she left behind.
Whittney is survived by her loving parents, Nathan and Alecia Pfefferkorn, siblings Gavin and Aleigha, grandparents, great-grandmother, and her boyfriend, Dylan Bredemeyer.
Visitation will be held on Thursday, August 7, from 4–7 p.m. at Pleasant Lake Community Church, with a Celebration of Life service on Friday, August 8, at 11 a.m.
Memorial donations can be made to Women’s Care Center Northeast or the Cameron Hospital Foundation’s Obstetrics Department in her memory.
