Born on July 29, 1949, Coach Ted McKee was a beloved figure in Louisiana high school sports, especially at Jena High School.

He became head coach of the Jena Giants boys’ basketball team in 1980 and served in that role for 22 seasons.

Later, he returned for one final season at Jena before officially retiring again.

In January 2024, Jena High School honored him with a special event called “Ted McKee Night.”
