Alvin “Lil Mark” Johnson, a former Harper Woods football player, tragically lost his life in a shooting on I-94 near 10 Mile Road in St. Clair Shores at the age of 19.
The incident occurred on Saturday, April 26, 2025, while he was traveling in a vehicle, and as of now, authorities are still investigating the tragic shooting.
There has been no confirmation of an arrest or any established link between the shooter and Alvin.
Detectives are working to determine the motive behind the incident, and anyone with information has been urged to contact the authorities.
Alvin Was A Dedicated Student And A Passionate Football Player!
Originally from from the Eastside of Detroit, Alvin “Lil Mark” Johnson was a 19-year-old standout young football player.
He had recently graduated from Harper Woods High School, where he was known for his dedication to both academics and athletics.
Despite the challenges of being a student-athlete, he maintained a 3.0 GPA while excelling in a field.
Likewise, he earned a scholarship to Central State University in Ohio after graduation.
Johnson was involved in programs like Talent Search, Max Ex ELITE, and Sound Mind Sound Body. These programs helped him develop his skills and prepare for a future in football.
His future held immense potential, and he was set to begin his collegiate football career.
With his work ethic and passion for the game, he had the opportunity to make a significant impact both on and off the field.
Tragically, his journey was cut short before he could fulfill these dreams.
His untimely passing is a heartbreaking loss for his family, friends, and his community.
Alvin’s former teacher, LaToya Daniels, expressed her heartfelt gratitude, saying:
Lord in your mercy 💔Praying for my former students (his siblings) and their mother! Little Mark was extremely talented and did not deserve this at all!!!!
Moreover, his family members, Fallon Moore and Ebony Johnson, have set up a GoFundMe entitled “The Life and Legacy of Alvin ‘Lil Mark’ Johnson.”
This campaign was created to help cover funeral expenses and provide Alvin with a proper burial.
Besides, the campaign set a goal of $20,000, and as of today, it has raised over $5,000 in donations.
His family expresses deep gratitude for the support they have received. They also invite those who knew and loved Alvin to help give him a respectful farewell.
