Terry Kennedy was arrested on May 17, 2025, for allegedly providing a Kratom-based supplement to a 17-year-old student in Florida.

Terry Kennedy, 47, was a track and field coach and a former football coach at Hernando High School.

He worked with student-athletes, helping them develop their skills in both sports. However, his career took a turn when he was arrested.

UWA Alumni Terry Kennedy Willingly Provided A Kratom-Based Supplement To A Student!

The incident occurred on May 9, 2025, when the student saw Kennedy use the supplement as an energy booster and requested some for himself.

After the student’s request, Kennedy willingly provided the student with two packets of the Kratom-based supplements.

The 17-year-old student consumed both packets of the Kratom-based supplement, mixing them with soda.

Shortly after ingesting, he began experiencing distress, including an elevated heart rate and blood pressure.

A school resource deputy found the student unresponsive with shallow breathing and a rapid pulse.

The deputy performed a sternum rub, prompting the student to regain consciousness and report feeling overheated.

The student was transported to a local hospital for further treatment and observation.

Fortunately, after receiving medical attention, he recovered, and there are no reports of lasting health issues.ON the

On the other hand, Kennedy admitted to supplying the supplement and acknowledged that he knew it contained Kratom.

An arrest warrant was issued on May 16, 2025, and Kennedy turned himself in at the Lake County Detention Center on May 17, 2025.

He faces a misdemeanor charge of furnishing a Kratom product to a minor, with his bond set at $500.

However, his recent arrest has overshadowed his professional background.

Regarding this case, many people believe that, as a teacher and coach, he should have exercised better judgment.

While some argue that his intentions may not have been malicious, his actions were irresponsible and inappropriate, saying:

In my opinion, whatever that is worth, a teacher should not provide anything like that to a student. Terry should have known better. He is the adult. I am not saying he had bad intentions . It was inappropriate.
