Keshuna Luckett, a standout guard and graduate of both Lanier High School and Jackson State University (JSU), has officially taken the next step in her basketball journey.

She has been hired as an assistant women’s basketball coach at Pensacola State College, bringing her leadership, talent, and experience to a new generation of players.

A Decorated Playing Career At Jackson State

Luckett played for the JSU Lady Tigers from 2019 through the 2023–24 season, including time as a graduate student.

During her time with the team, she was known for her steady performance and leadership both on and off the court.

A consistent contributor, Luckett averaged between 6.7 to 8.9 points per game, 2 to 3 rebounds, and up to 3.9 assists per game.

She also recorded about one steal per game and proved effective from the free-throw line, shooting between 68% and 78%.

Her sharpshooting and versatility made her a key part of the Lady Tigers’ four consecutive SWAC regular season championships and two SWAC tournament titles.

Before her college stardom, Keshuna was already making waves at Lanier High School in Jackson, Mississippi.

She was a nationally recognized talent and was named player of the year multiple times.

Her strong performances in district and playoff games earned her widespread respect across the state.

A Multidimensional Leader With Supportive Family

Beyond her stats, Luckett has built a reputation for being a team leader and role model.

She’s been active in cities across the Southern U.S., including New Orleans, Houston, Birmingham, Nashville, Atlanta, and Little Rock, as part of her basketball journey.

Her passions extend beyond sports as she is interested in fitness, business, finance, culture, music, and food.

She’s also embraced the new era of NIL (Name, Image, Likeness), offering fan interactions and appearances through social media platforms.

Keshuna’s journey has been shaped by the strong support of her family, particularly her mother, Lasonya Luckett.

Based in Jackson, Mississippi, Lasonya is a devoted mother of five who describes herself as “God-fearing, loving, intelligent, and not perfect, but God is not done.”

Despite personal challenges, including being separated, she remains a pillar of strength in Keshuna’s life.

A Promising Future In Coaching

With her new role at Pensacola State, Keshuna Luckett brings not only her technical skills but also her passion for mentorship.

Having gone from a high school standout in Jackson to a championship-winning college player, and now to a coaching role, she is well-positioned to make a lasting impact on young athletes.

Pensacola State College has gained more than just a coach; they’ve welcomed a leader with heart, hustle, and a history of winning.
