Harrison, Idaho Mourns Former Kootenai High School Track and Field Star Dan Usdrowski, 48, Survived by Wife Tori and Three Sons

Daniel ‘Dan’ Usdrowski, a longtime resident of Harrison, Idaho, and former athlete, passed away on Saturday, November 8, 2025, at an untimely age of 48, leaving his family and loved ones devastated.

While his family has not revealed the details of his untimely death, Dan Usdrowski’s obituary states that he died peacefully, surrounded by his family.

Born on December 17, 1976, in Coeur d’Alene, Dan Usdrowski began his athletic journey from a very young age, excelling in multiple sports.

Dan attended Kootenai High School, where he excelled as a track and field star, competing for the men’s team and leading his team to several victories.

During his tenure at Kootenai High School, he set the school record in the 300-meter hurdles that stood unbeaten for years. He graduated as Valedictorian of Kootenai High School in 1995.

While it is unclear whether Dan Usdrowski continued his athletic career in college, he continued to positively impact the lives of many in the community with his kind nature and also guided his children to become exceptional athletes.

After graduating from high school, Dan Usdrowski earned a degree in Civil Engineering from Gonzaga University in 2000 and began his career as an engineer and general contractor.

Furthermore, Dan Usdrowski was also known for his philanthropy, serving as president of the Ducks Unlimited Silver Valley Chapter.

In addition to being an amazing athlete and engineer, Dan Usdrowski was a devoted husband to his wife of 29 years, Tori Kaye Kraack-Usdrowski, and a proud father to his three sons.

The couple together raised three sons, Triston, Jarrett, and Travis, to be exceptional athletes.

Their eldest son, Triston Usdrowski, played basketball at Kootenai High School, leading his team in several victories.

Similarly, their other son, Travis Usdrowski, played varsity baseball at Lake City High School and is committed to play collegiate baseball at Tacoma Community College.

While in high school, Travis played as an INF, RHP, and OF, wearing jersey #3, and won several honorable titles.

Likewise, Dan’s other son, Jarrett Usdrowski, is a Jiu Jitsu star and competed in the 2024 Spokane Jiu Jitsu Championships in the GI Male White Adult Feather division, representing Trevor Prangley’s team, and won first place, defeating Max Cahoon in the final.

In addition to his wife and kids, Dan is survived by his mother, Valerie, five siblings, uncles, aunts, and the entire family.

The Harrison, Idaho, community has created a GoFundMe page to help Dan’s wife and kids during this difficult time. The fundraiser aims to raise $40k, and to date, around $29,492 has been raised.
