Chick Harris, a legendary NFL assistant coach, built a strong family foundation with his wife, Cheryl Harris, who always had his back throughout his 33-year coaching career.

Chick Harris, a respected NFL assistant coach, spent 33 years mentoring top talent, including Jerome Bettis, Ahman Green, and Arian Foster.

He helped guide many players to multiple 1,000-yard rushing seasons, earning a legacy of excellence.

Harris began coaching college football in 1970 before transitioning to the NFL with the Buffalo Bills in 1981 under Chuck Knox.

He followed Knox to the Seahawks and Rams, serving as the Rams‘ offensive coordinator for one season. Later, he joined the Carolina Panthers in their inaugural season of 1995.

In 2002, he became the first running backs coach for the Houston Texans, staying until 2014.

Harris earned Hall of Fame honors at Long Beach City College and Northern Arizona University.

The coveted coach, Harris, passed away on January 7, 2025, at 79, leaving behind a legacy in football.
