Eric played basketball for the University of Maine at Augusta. He graduated in 2022 with a degree in business administration.
Following graduation, he joined Halcones Rojos de Veracruz in the Mexican LNBP and Wenatchee Valley College in The Basketball League (TBL).
However, Eric is not the only child who followed in his father’s footsteps. Jamal’s other child, JJ, is making a name for himself in basketball.
JJ inherited his father’s basketball skills and received his first Division-I college basketball scholarship offer as a 13-year-old seventh grader.
Although JJ will not graduate high school until 2029, he has a full-ride basketball scholarship to the University of Montana. He has been playing basketball since he was 1 year old.
Jamal shares a beautiful and close bond with his younger son. The father-son duo spend hours in the gym together, and Jamal once mentioned that their joint objective is for his son “to be better than [Jamal] was at that age.“
