Former Green Bay Packers player Blake Martinez shared photos of his wife, Kristy Martinez, and him enjoying a trip to Cancun in September 2024. Since then, the Pokemon card seller hasn’t shared much about him or his family.
In 2023, Martinez’s name once again made headlines after he announced he was coming out of retirement.
At the time, Martinez was reportedly working out with the Panthers, but the linebacker later signed with the Pittsburgh Steelers.
Martinez retired in 2022, having played four games with the Raiders to sell Pokemon cards through his company, Blake’s Breaks.
The linebacker joined the NFL as a fourth-round pick of the Packers in 2016 and played with the Giants before joining the West Coast team.
As Blake’s Breaks owner, Martinez claimed to have earned over $5 million in the first seven months, leading to his early retirement. But his business wasn’t as clean as he mentioned.
WhatNot, an online marketplace that oversees the transactions collectibles, banned Blake’s Breaks in August 2023 for an undisclosed reason.
Reports emerged that the company scammed several customers. Blake shook the dust off his cleats as the revenue dried up and returned to the football ground.
But Martinez couldn’t make any impact and has since been removed from the Steelers roster.
Though his career might not have turned out to be what he wanted, the former NFL player certainly has his family’s support.
Blake Martinez’s Wife, Kristy Martinez Is A Realtor
On September 4, 2024, Blake Martinez shared a snap of his wife, Kristy Martinez, surfing the waves during their trip to Cancún.
But unlike her husband, Kristy isn’t very active on social media. Her Instagram handle remains private; the last time she shared on Facebook was in 2020.
Kristy Martinez (née Kearney) graduated with a communication degree from The University of Arizona in 2017.
Since then, she has worked as a Coldwell Banker Real Estate Group realtor.
When Blake played for the Packers, the couple lived in Wisconsin and later moved to New York after the Giants traded for the linebacker.
At the time, Blake used his wife and her agency’s expertise to sell their property.
The former NFL player had bought the Wisconsin house for $299,000 in 2017 and listed it for sale at $329,000 in 2020.
In January 2023, seven months before his Pokemon card scam case blew up, Blake planned to sell his SoCal home for $6.3 million.
Blake and Kristy bought the home only in May 2022 for a $5.9 million home and put it on the market with a 5% price hike.
Previously, in 2018, Blake and Kristy showed their charitable side, delivering mattresses to four families in the Green Bay area.
The couple partnered with Ashley HomeStore and Furniture & Appliance Mart to give out 50 mattresses throughout Wisconsin.
In 2017, the couple gave out 50 Thanksgiving meals to needy people.
Blake And Kristy Are Parents To Three Girls
Blake and Kristy dated for a few years before the former got down on one knee to pop the big question.
On April 3, 2017, Martinez shared an Instagram post revealing he had a girlfriend.
The linebacker wrote a lengthy caption saying he had found the girl who could stand his weirdness for more than ten seconds and who could make him happy every second he was with her.
Six months after that post, on October 30, 2017, Kristy and Blake announced their engagement.
The former NFL player proposed to his girlfriend at a New York City restaurant during a bye week.
He shared a photo of Kristy showing off her ring as they smiled for the camera.
But before the couple could walk down the aisle, they were blessed with a baby girl.
On August 4, 2018, Blake announced the birth of his first child, Kinsley Martinez.
The couple tied the knot in July 2019 but never shared any pictures from their wedding ceremony.
Since then, Blake and Kristy have welcomed two more baby girls.
On April 22, 2024, Blake shared a photo of him, Kristy, and their youngest daughter and captioned it, “Girl dad in full effect, baby girl 3 just turned one.”
