Philip Michael Rivers (born December 8, 1981) is a former NFL quarterback and current high school football coach.

Rivers played 17 seasons in the NFL, primarily with the Chargers (2004–2019) and one season with the Colts (2020).

Rivers was drafted fourth overall by the Giants in 2004. Then, in 2006, he was traded to the Chargers, where he became the starting quarterback.

He led the team to four division titles, six playoff appearances, and an AFC Championship Game (2007).

Despite his success, he never reached a Super Bowl during his NFL career.

Rivers retired in 2020 and ranked fifth in NFL history for passing yards (63,440) and touchdowns (421) and second in consecutive starts (240).

Since 2021, he has been the head coach at St. Michael Catholic High School in Alabama.
