It was thrilling, though there was a slight mix-up when the WNBA showed her as a Notre Dame player on a graphic. Fans quickly pointed out the mistake, but it didn’t take away from Sania’s big achievement.

This exciting moment is a dream come true for Sania and her parents, who have always supported her love for sports.

Sania Feagin’s Parents, Sherri And Charles, Played Collegiate Basketball!

Sania comes from an athletic family. Her parents were both athletes, so it’s no surprise that she grew up with a passion for basketball.

Her mother, Sherri Feagin, is a former NCAA Division I basketball player at Washington. Her father, Charles Feagin, was a forward at Morgan State University.

Sania Feagin’s father, Charles Feagin, displayed impressive skills over a two-season collegiate career spanning 53 games, averaging 8.2 points, 4.2 rebounds, and 1.5 assists per game.

His shooting percentages included 43.9% from the field, 27.6% from beyond the arc, and 71.1% from the free-throw line, with an effective field goal percentage of 47.6%.

Charles contributed consistently on both ends of the court, making his mark during the 1991–1992 and 1992–1993 seasons before concluding his time at Morgan State.

Sania Feagin’s mother, Sherri Johnson, played as a forward for the University of Washington women’s basketball team during the 1987–88 season.

At 5’10”, she played in 16 games and averaged 1.4 points, 1.3 rebounds, and 0.1 assists per game.

While her playing time and statistics were modest, she contributed with a field goal percentage of 33.3% and a free throw percentage of 42.9%.

The 22-year-old WNBA player Sania has openly acknowledged her parents’ impact, though she keeps much of her personal life private.

In a March 2025 interview after the SEC tournament, she credited their support for keeping her grounded, saying:

My mom and dad always told me to stay focused and work hard, no matter what.

At the WNBA Draft, Sherri was by her side at The Shed at Hudson Yards, with tears in her eyes as Sania’s name was called.
