Scott Merriman’s Passing Left His Family And Community Heartbroken!

Born in Neptune and raised in Spring Lake, Scott Merriman was a standout athlete during his school years at Manasquan High School.

He played baseball and football during his high School and was admired for his competitive spirit and leadership on the field.

Moreover, he was a member of Manasquan’s state championship baseball team during his junior year.

His loyalty to Manasquan football never faded, and he was a familiar face at games, always cheering with his signature phrase, “Go Squan beat Wall.”

Professionally, Scott worked for nearly three decades as a salesman at Fedway Associates.

He was also a proud member of the Friendly Sons of the Shillelagh in Belmar.

His backyard hangout, The Down Under, became a beloved local spot that reflected his generous and welcoming nature.

Scott was an organ donor through the New Jersey Sharing Network, continuing his legacy of giving.

He is survived by his wife of 26 years, Meghan Emery Merriman, and their daughters, Haleigh Jane and Maeve Elizabeth.

His extended family includes siblings, in-laws, nieces, nephews, and countless friends who adored him.

Loved ones describe him as someone who could make anyone laugh and who never met a stranger.

His wife, along with extended family and friends, is mourning his loss with heartfelt tributes.

One of his friends shared a heartfelt message, saying:

This one hurts a lot. We (and I mean all of us) have lost a true friend. Scott was someone we could all count on and if you were with him, you were his best friend at that time. He always took the extra minute to ask how everyone in our family and all our friends were doing. He did that because he cared. He cared about his family and he treated his friends like family. I will miss our talks about our mutual love for all things Manasquan and especially Manasquan football

💙

. I will remember you Scott every time I say “Go Squan Beat Wall!” And I will say it a lot! RIP my friend and my thoughts and prayers are with your family.

Scott Merriman’s celebration of life will take place on Friday, October 31st, 2025, at 11:30 a.m. at St. Rose R.C. Church in Belmar, New Jersey.
