Two-time Pro Bowl player Vernon Davis has yet to tie the knot. The former 49ers tight end came close to marrying not once but twice. Sadly, the relationship didn’t pan out the way he hoped.
Davis, 41, has already seen former teammates and peers close to him in age exchange their vows with their partners.
The former NFL player came close but remains in no rush to tie the knot just yet.
The tight end retired from the NFL during the 2019 season after 14 years in the league.
Davis, a sixth overall pick of the 2006 Draft Class, began his journey with the 49ers and played for the side for a decade.
But it was after his move to the Broncos in 2015 that Davis tasted the Super Bowl success.
After winning the Super Bowl in his lone season for the Broncos, Davis was traded to the Washington Commanders, with whom he played until 2019.
Recently, after the Commanders defeated the Super Bowl favorites, Detroit Lions 45-31 at Ford Field in the Divisional Round, Vernon Davis couldn’t contain his excitement for his former side.
In an interview with NBC, the former NFL player said it was pure joy seeing his former team become successful after years of setbacks.
Since retiring from the NFL, Davis has turned his head toward the business world and is seen advertising various products on his socials.

Vernon Davis’ former fiance, Janel Horne, put him in the spotlight on Instagram in 2016 with a cheating accusation.
The Daily Mail reported that Horne wrote in an Instagram post:
When you give a man your all, 15 years, 3 kids, and you sacrifice your life and then he cheats on you with a 20 yr old child and lie on you @vernondavis85.

Horne didn’t write this caption in an individual photo of the former NFL player. She shared the photo of Davis and his alleged 20-year-old mistress on her Instagram handle.
After his former fiance shamed him publicly, Davis started posting biblical passages on his feed.
One of his posts shared by the New York Post read, “When people do these things, we should hold hands and pray for them.“
The 2016 article shared by the New York Post also mentioned that a day after being accused of infidelity, Davis shared a selfie of him cheesing.
His followers quickly brought him back to earth, with one of them writing, “On your way to pick your 20-year-old side chick from daycare.“
Davis and Horne previously mentioned their kids in an interview with Sports Illustrated, which has been taken down.
The couple talked about their son, Jianni, and daughter, Valleigh. The couple had yet to welcome their third child at the time of their interview.
Vernon Davis Got Engaged Two Years After the Cheating Accusation!
But less than two years after his cheating allegations made headlines, Vernon had already found another leading lady.
In 2018, in an interview with USA Today, Davis shared his proposal story with his second fiance, Kayla Sortor.
The NFL veteran booked a plane and four skydivers in February 2018.
Davis planned that he and Sortor would walk onto the Ocean City, Maryland beach, and four skydivers would jump and glide down in their parachutes.
Each of the four skydivers would approach them and reveal a message across their shirt.
“WILL” on the first, “YOU” on the second. “MARRY” on the third and “ME?” on the fourth.
It happened like Davis had planned. He took Kayla to Ocean City, telling her they were attending one of his close friend’s party.
After the skydivers revealed the message, Davis went down on one knee and proposed to Sortor.
Sortor graduated from the University of Maryland with a communications degree in 2014 and later earned her Master’s at Bowie State.
While working on her Master’s degree, Kayla worked in the security department of the US Federal Government. She currently works as a Senior Strategic Communications Specialist at KBR.
Since their engagement in 2018, the couple hasn’t made many public appearances.
Kayla has a photo with Davis on her Facebook handle, which she posted in 2017. But Vernon hasn’t shared any pictures of them on his Instagram handle.
