The decorated athlete of Texas City High School, Michael Leslie Pace, passed away on February 4, 2025. Pace leaves behind his wife, Aletha Beth Call Pace, and his three kids.
Born in Beaumont, Texas, Michael attended Texas City High School with his brother, Richard Pace.
A well-known football player during his heyday, Michael decided not to continue his sports career after high school.
After graduation, the former athlete enrolled at Lamar College and decided to divert his attention towards becoming a salesman, a profession in which he managed to build a strong reputation for himself.
In his obituary, his family mentioned that Michael loved not playing football but also enjoyed basketball and softball.

Though he picked up softball only in his late 40s, Michael still impressed the crowd with his batting skills.
A devout Christian, Michael also lovingly called Mike by his close family and friends, served the Episcopal Church.
The former football player even embarked on a mission trip to Horundas and later continued his spiritual journey in the Baptist Church.
Michael’s memorial service will be held on February 14, 2025, at 2 P.M. at First Baptist Church with the Reverend Dr. Brice Mandaville officiating.
Michael Leslie Pace Was Widowed Twice
A strong-willed man, Michael Leslie Pace had to brave through the loss of two of his wives.
Before tying the knot with Aletha Beth Call Pace, Michael was married to Elizabeth “Liz” Pace and Susan Lowry Pace.
Michael exchanged his vows with Liz in 1964 and had three kids with her; two daughters, Kelly and Leslie, and a son named Michael Pace Jr.
With Liz, Michael decided to raise their family in Seguin, Texas. Unfortunately, Liz couldn’t be there for Michael for the rest of their lives as she tragically passed away.
He later tied the knot with Susan Lowry Pace but their relationship didn’t last. The two didn’t have any kids together.
Susan passed away at age 74 on September 23, 2016. Susan was survived by Michael and her four kids from her previous relationship at the time of her demise.
In 2016, Michael’s daughter, Kelly Weaver shared a sweet Facebook post for her mother, Liz Pace on Mother’s Day.
Kelly shared a carousel of images of her late mother, which included several pictures of her as a newborn. Kelly wrote:
There is not a day or a Mother’s Day that goes by that I don’t think of my mom. My mother was always there to help me , guide me and helped mold me into the person I am today. I love when people say I look like her or tell me a story about my mom. I still miss her and get a little sad every Mother’s Day!

Kelly further wrote she wished she could’ve had the chance to spend more time with her mom.
She also recommended those reading the post not let silly arguments destroy their relationship with their parents.
