An outstanding three-sport athlete for football, basketball, and track, Richard L. Beauchamp, tragically passed away on Saturday.
Richard was born on November 7, 1934, in Piercefield to his parents, Francis and Hermine David Beauchamp.
He graduated from Tupper Lake High School in 1955.
In recognition of his exceptional athleticism, he was inducted into the Tupper Lake High School Hall of Fame as an outstanding athlete.
Beauchamp continued to Camden Prep School, where he played football.
He enlisted in the U.S. Army, where he served in the Korean War, and was honorably discharged in 1958.
In addition, he worked for the town of Altamont as a mechanic for over 25 years.
When he retired from the city, he started working as a mechanic for over a decade at the Tupper Lake Country Club.

Richard L. Beauchamp, 90, took his last breath on Saturday, May 24, 2025, at Adirondack Medical Center in Saranac Lake.
However, the cause of death has not been revealed yet.
Emily Lauren Martin, an administrative office assistant at Martin & Dukett, took to her official Facebook handle and mourned the loss of Richard. She wrote,
I knew you fondly as a child and I will always remember when we would visit you when i was a child. You are my great uncle. It wasn’t until my husband taught me to play cribbage where I was able to become closer to you ❤️ I will miss you and our banter

Other close ones and relatives have poured their heartfelt condolences and sent prayers to Richard’s family to stay strong in this challenging time.
According to Richard’s family, a funeral Mass will be held on Friday, May 30, 2025, at St. Alphonsus Church, with Rev. James Teti officiating.
Calling hours will be held the day prior, on Thursday, May 29, 2025, from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. at Frary Funeral Home in Tupper Lake.
Burial will take place immediately following the Mass at St. Alphonsus Cemetery. Rest in Peace, Richard L. Beauchamp.
Richard L. Beauchamp Is Survived By His Wife, Ann J. LaValle, And Five Children
Richard L. Beauchamp was married to Ann J. LaValle on September 20, 1958, at St. Alphonsus Chuch.
Sadly, their married life ended after 66 years following the tragic death of Richard.
Richard and Ann were blessed with five children: Richard Jr., Jennie, Martin, Bill, and Michelle Beauchamp.
Jennie is married to Joe Hockey of Tupper Lake, Martin is married to Alie of Thornton, Colorado, and Bill is married to Heather of Potsdam.
In addition, Richard and Ann have 10 grandchildren: Nicole, Andre, Alexander, Anton, Ashley, Torey, Ann, Beau, Katherine, and Daniel.
Currently, they are mourning the tragic death of their supportive and devoted father, Richard L. Beauchamp.

- His brother, Francis, married Elsie Medford Beauchamp on September 5, 1954, in Tupper Lake, New York. They were blessed with two children: Donna Lewis and Teri Kincade.
