Retired NBA player Morris Peterson and his wife, Tara Peterson, have remained out of the spotlight since he left the league in 2011. The couple is parent to two sets of twins whom Morris shows occasionally on his Instagram handle.
Born and raised in Flint, Michigan, Morris played collegiate basketball at Michigan State University.
After he redshirted in 1995, Morris started 18 games in his freshman year at Michigan. As a forward, Morris averaged 6.8 points and 0.6 assists.
Numbers improved in his junior year as Peterson averaged 13.6 points, 0.9 assists, and 5.7 rebounds.
In his senior year, Michigan State won the NCAA Championship as Morris led the team in scoring, field goal percentage, and free throw percentage.
The Raptors selected Peterson as the 21st overall pick in the 2000 NBA Draft. Morris spent seven years with the Raptors, 2005 being his best year.
16.8 points was the highest he averaged in his NBA tenure, which he achieved with the Raptors.
In 2007, the forward was traded to the New Orleans Pelicans (then Hornets), where he played for three seasons but couldn’t make much impact.
In 2010, the Thunder signed Morris but was traded later that season to the Charlotte Hornets (then Bobcats). He retired later that year and went on to try his hands as an analyst.
Peterson worked with The Sports Network from 2015 to 2017, and since then, he has been out of the limelight.

Tara has never made a public appearance with her famous husband and has never been seen attending any events with him.
Could Morris’ controversies be one of the reasons Tara hasn’t made public appearances with him?
In 2004, Morris was accused by a woman named Daphne Charlemagne of allegedly infecting her with genital herpes.
At the time, Daphne sought $1 million in general damages and $500,000 in special damages.
In 2017, a Colorado woman claimed that Morris could be the father of her six-year-old son.
Shemeca Craddock filed a complaint for paternity and support but hadn’t heard back from the former NBA player.
Craddock told the media that Peterson knew about her pregnancy but never complied when asked to take a DNA test.
