Former athlete, Jeffrey “Jeff” P. Carlson, passed away peacefully at his home in Lake in the Hills on October 30, 2025, at the young age of 42.
Jeff is survived by his parents, Paul and Dorothy, and his brothers, Richard and Brian, as well as his sister-in-law, Melyssa, and his sister-in-law, Jenny.
He was a proud uncle to his nieces, Brittany (Jeff) Kern, Kaitlyn (Logan) DeWulf, Brianna (Alex) Ravagnie, and Lylah Carlson. Nephew Dayne Carlson.
Similarly, he also leaves behind his great-nephew, Jace Kern, and his extended family, who loved him.
Born on December 8, 1982, Jeff was born as the youngest of three sons.
As a boy, he loved to run in track events and play basketball and baseball. He remained close to many of those same friends throughout his adult years, right up to the end.
Jeff graduated from H.D. Jacobs High School in Algonquin in 2002.
After that, he built a career in the car wash business. He managed facilities and sold parts, equipment, and supplies to car washes across the northern and western suburbs of Chicago.
Jeff enjoyed traveling whenever he could. Likewise, he also loved playing sports himself and watching games on TV or in person.

Most of all, he cared for his dogs and cats at home.
Jeff was the kind of person who always thought of others first. He was warm and giving, and he made sure family and friends felt important.
While he deeply cared for other people, he didn’t always take good care of his own health.
He struggled for a long time with addiction. It hurt his body in ways he could not fix the damage.
According to reports, a private gathering to commemorate Jeff’s life will be held soon. The family will share the date and place later.
During this challenging phase, we pray for the strength of Jeff’s family.
Rest Easy, Jeffrey “Jeff” P Carlson!
