Albany, Georgia native and former University of Georgia (UGA) football player Gleaton Jones was critically injured in a devastating car accident on December 10, 2024.
The accident left Gleaton with severe injuries, including a traumatic brain injury that required the partial removal of his skull to alleviate swelling.
He remains in the ICU, fighting for his life, as his family and community rally around him during this incredibly difficult time.
The tragedy has brought the Albany community together in prayer and hope for his recovery.

Gleaton’s athletic journey began at Deerfield-Windsor School, where he excelled across multiple sports, including football, track, and basketball.
He earned numerous accolades, including All-State, All-Region, and Presidential Honors, showcasing his exceptional talent and dedication.
As a walk-on running back for the Georgia Bulldogs, Gleaton proudly wore #49 during the 2021 season.
Off the field, he aimed to major in Marketing, earning admiration for his ambition and drive in all aspects of life.
Now, his fight for recovery has inspired many, uniting friends, family, and the broader community in support.
