JD Laupola, a former standout football player at Westlake High School and a coach, passed away tragically in May 2025, leaving his parents devastated.

JD Laupola Began His Journey As A Player Before Transitioning Into Coaching!

JD Laupola was a talented football player who demonstrated his skill and versatility throughout his high school career.

He played at Westlake High School in Westlake Village, California, during his sophomore year in 2019, wearing jersey #43 and maintaining his 5’11”, 230 lbs frame.

That season, Westlake had a 2-9 overall record, finishing 3rd in their league with a 2-2 record, and holding a national rank of #1038 and state rank of #88.

In his senior year (2021) at Rio Mesa High School in Oxnard, California, JD Laupola continued to showcase his versatility as a defensive end (DE), tight end (TE), and fullback (FB) while wearing jersey #43.

JD contributed to his team’s strong 7-4 overall record, finishing second in their league with a 4-1 record.

His efforts helped Rio Mesa achieve a state rank of #180, reflecting the impact of his athleticism and dedication on the field.

During his playing career, he played against teams like Santa Barbara, Valencia, and Oxnard High School.

His performance and dedication made him a valuable player, leaving a lasting impression on those who played alongside him.

We are in shock at the sudden passing of #43 Coach JD Laupola. His passion for life, his community, and football were on full display for the world to enjoy. Our deepest condolences go out to his friends and family.

There is a GoFundMe campaign “Help Raise Money for JD Laupola’s Going Home Service” for JD Laupola’s funeral expenses, organized by Terrance Togia.

The purpose of the fundraiser is to help cover the unexpected costs of JD’s Going Home Service, ensuring his family can give him a proper farewell.

Additionally, a candlelight memorial for JD Laupola will be held on May 16, 2025, at House of Gainz Gym, located at 3075 Saviers Rd, Oxnard.
