Former WNBA player Sue Bird has been in a relationship with her fiancée, soccer star Megan Rapinoe, for the past seven years. However, the couple does not share any kids.

The couple met for the first time at the 2016 Summer Olympics, after which they felt a spark and started dating.

Later, in 2017, Sue came out as gay and exclusively opened up about her relationship with Megan.

Since then, the couple have been together and were the first LGBTQ+ couple to co-host the ESPYs in 2020.

However, the couple has not publicly shared whether they want to have kids or if they plan to expand their family in the near future.

Sue Bird Has Been Engaged To Megan Rapinoe For Four Years, But The Couple Have Never Disclosed Any Plans For Kids

Sue Bird publicly announced her relationship with her girlfriend, Megan Rapinoe, in 2017 to ESPNW, saying:

I’ gay. Megan’s my girlfriend. These aren’t secrets to people who know me

Furthermore, the couple posed together for ESPN The Magazine’s Body Issue, becoming the first same-sex couple featured by the magazine.

The pair have consistently supported each other’s careers and have been there for each other’s major career highlights.

Moreover, Sue has been very open about their relationship since the beginning, and the two have previously expressed positivity about marrying each other.

On October 30, 2020, Sue announced her engagement to Megan Rapinoe in an Instagram post, sharing a picture of Rapinoe getting down on one knee and putting a ring on her finger.

The two have been engaged for nearly four years and have discussed their wedding plans online.

In talks about their wedding planning, Bird hinted at the possibility of a wedding in Mexico.

Although they have been open about their marriage plans, they have never publicly discussed their desire to have children.

As both the players have retired from their professional careers, fans suspect now might be the time to think about children.

Additionally, after retirement, the couple has launched a production company, A Touch More, where they produce podcasts mostly related to sports and pop culture.
