Married since the early 1970s until her recent death, Patty quietly supported one of the most influential figures in American sports broadcasting through every stage of his extraordinary career for over five decades.
From Ed’s early days at CBS Sports to building Fox Sports into a powerhouse and beyond, Patty stood by his side as his constant supporter.
While Ed was revolutionizing NFL and MLB broadcasts, travelling the country for Super Bowls and World Series, Patty provided the stable home base, primarily in the Los Angeles area, where the couple had long resided.
Patty occasionally stepped into the spotlight alongside Ed Goren, most notably at his 2012 induction into the Sports Broadcasting Hall of Fame and at gala celebrations honoring his achievements.
Late Patty Goren Maintained a Low Profile
Despite being the wife of a renowned sports producer, late Patty Goren always preferred a low-profile life away from cameras and microphones.
Very little information about her professional life is available; however, Patty Goren enjoyed her life to the fullest as a loving wife to her longtime husband, Ed Goren, and a great mother to their son, Gregory ‘Greg’ Goren.
Ed and Patty continued to enjoy a private, happy life together in Southern California.
Warm, gracious, and often described by those who know the couple as the grounding force in Ed’s high-intensity world, Patty is credited by Ed himself for keeping family life steady during decades of seven-day workweeks and live-television pressure.
While Ed Goren and the Goren family haven’t released any statement regarding details surrounding the passing of Patty Goren, many of her loved ones are paying tribute online and extending their heartfelt condolences to her family during this difficult time.
Her family will soon provide details about her funeral and memorial services.
