The Fredericksburg and Walkerton, Virginia community is mourning the untimely death of beloved native and renowned racer, Travis Taylor.
According to his obituary, Travis Glen Taylor passed away on November 16, 2025, at the untimely age of 42; however, the cause of his death has not yet been disclosed.
Born on March 6, 1983, to parents Bruce Glen Taylor and Robin Dix Taylor, Travis touched the lives of many with his amazing racing and hunting skills and his kind-hearted nature.
He was an avid hunter and the third-generation leader of Taylor Hunt Club.
Similarly, Travis Taylor was a beloved member of the Virginia racing community, earning several honorable titles throughout his life.
He won four straight titles of modified champion at Newtown Dragway and eight titles of Footbrake Champion at Colonial Beach Dragway.
Furthermore, Travis is a proud alum of Virginia Tech, where he was an integral part of Virginia Tech’s Baja racing team.
In addition to his racing and hunting career, Travis Taylor also built his reputation in the community as a remarkable mechanical engineer.
Travis Taylor Worked at Kaeser Compressors and Ran His Family Farm
Earning his Mechanical Engineering degree from Virginia Tech in 2006, Travis began his career as an engineer.
He worked for Kaeser Compressors Inc., one of the largest providers of compressed air systems and solutions based in Fredericksburg, for over 12 years until his recent demise.
Likewise, Travis traveled to Germany and throughout the US as the lead design Engineer for their special projects, building his reputation as a respected engineer.
In addition to his engineering career, Travis ran his family’s century-old Holly Ridge Farm in Virginia.
The untimely death of Travis Taylor has left a profound void in the lives of his family, friends, and loved ones.
Many of his loved ones are paying tribute to the late Travis and extending their heartfelt condolences to his family during this difficult time.
Travis Taylor is survived by his wife of 18 years, Kelly Renee Fenton Taylor, daughter, Abigial ‘Abby’ Lynn Taylor, parents Bruce Glen Taylor and Robin Dix Taylor, brother and his wife, Adam and Leslie Taylor, nieces Hayden, Evalee, and Ellie Wayne Taylor, maternal grandmother, Peggy Ann Davis Dix, mother and father-in-law, Debbie and Don Fenton and the entire family.
His wife, Kelly, took to her Instagram to pay tribute to the late Travis Taylor by sharing a beautiful post that reads:
“For 18 years, you worked your butt off giving Abby and I everything we ever wanted. The most selfless person with the kindest heart. I’m so very sorry for the suffering you went through the last 6 months. You didn’t deserve that. I’m glad you’re no longer in pain, but it’s just not fair. It’s not fair. I will miss you every day, until then….. 💔😢”

Travis’ family has organized a celebration of life for him on Thursday, November 20, 2025, at 11:00 a.m., at Bruington Baptist Church, 4784 The Trail, Bruington, VA 23023.
The family will receive loved ones following the service at Holly Ridge, 2287 Rosemount Road, Walkerton.
