Ron Eckert, a beloved resident of Hopkins, Minnesota, passed away suddenly, leaving behind his wife Heather and their children Rosie, Sadie, and Barnes.

On Sunday, November 2, 2025, he tragically passed away from probable cardiac arrest during a routine run in his neighborhood.

Ron Eckert’s Family Are Navigating An Unimaginable Loss After His Sudden Passing!

Ron Eckert served as Executive Director of Star Rock Ministries and Star Rock Adventure Camping for 18 years, from September 2007 to August 2025.

Additionally, he served as a Youth Pastor at San Clemente Presbyterian Church in California before relocating to Minnesota.

Affectionately known as Rev. Ron, he continued his ministry in partnership with the Presbytery of Los Ranchos.

During that time, he invested deeply in students and Christian camp programs across Southern California.

Before all these, he was involved in coaching high school basketball in 1993.

Ron Eckert’s passing has left a void in the hearts of his family, friends, community members, and all those who knew him.

Friends, former colleagues, and community members shared memories, recalling how he shaped lives through coaching, ministry, and mentorship.

One of Ron Eckert’s friends, who met him in 1993 while they were coaching high school basketball together, shared a heartfelt message, saying:

I am at a loss with this news! We met in 1993 coaching high school basketball together and truly shaped me to grow closer to God. Praying for Heather and the family!

Moreover, there is also a GoFundMe campaign for Ron Eckert’s family, titled “Help the Eckert Family Heal and Rebuild.”

This fundraiser was created by a friend of Ron to provide long-term financial support following Ron’s sudden passing.

Rosie is continuing her college degree, Heather is completing her master’s program, and Sadie and Barnes are working toward their own future dreams.

This fundraiser will help ease the financial challenges they face as they rebuild their lives without Ron.

Our heartfelt condolences go out to Ron Eckert’s family, friends, and well-wishers.

Rest In Peace, Coach!
