Zaiden Minor, the coin toss kid at a recent Wake Forest Football game, will launch his book, Zaiden’s Super Cells on the Court, on January 1, 2026.
His book was created for every child with a disease who has been told that playing sports may not be an option for them.
Zaiden Minor is full of energy and loves reading, playing sports, and spending time with his siblings while managing sickle cell disease.
He had an unforgettable experience as the honorary “coin toss kid” at a Wake Forest football game.
He watched pregame warm-ups from the sideline, joined the referees and team captains for the coin toss, and enjoyed the game with his family as special guests.
His journey shines as a powerful reminder of how early diagnosis, dedicated medical care, and strong support from family and friends can help children with sickle cell disease.
My son Zaiden is one of my biggest inspirations! If you dont know, he’s my sickle cell HERO ✨His drive, his energy, him never complaining…I can go on forever about him. But let me not forget he is becoming a BEAST in basketball 🏀

Zaiden Minor’s Superpower is Inspiration Despite Sickle Cell
Jordan Minor and Bree Minor married in November 2016 and gave birth to their son, Zaiden Minor.
Sadly, their son was diagnosed with sickle cell disease at birth and needed specialized care to stay healthy.
Zaiden’s journey was marked by hospital stays and unwavering courage.
His care at Atrium Health Levine Children’s Brenner Children’s Hospital has included monthly blood transfusions and daily medication to stay healthy for years.
As he grew older, he faced symptoms like high fevers and painful swelling in his hands.
He learned to navigate his disease through regular check-ups and a compassionate care team, enduring surgeries and hospital visits with incredible bravery.
It’s my twin 4th B-Day🎉 😁 Please, everyone, help me wish my Big Boi a Happy Birthday. We love you, Son!! Bree Minor

Zaiden has thrived by listening to his body and following his treatment.
His sickle cell doesn’t define him today. An avid reader and sports enthusiast is becoming a published author.
He has channeled his experiences into a book, Zaiden’s Super Cells on the Court, set to launch on January 1, 2026. His book inspires others with his strength and turns his challenge into a message of triumph.
