Dr. Markus Mosley, a Garner, North Carolina native and former collegiate athlete, passed away on Saturday, November 1, 2025, at an untimely age of 29.
While the family has yet to disclose the actual cause of the untimely death of Dr. Markus Mosley, many of his loved ones are recalling his memories on social media.

Markus Mosley touched the lives of many in the community with his exceptional athletic skills and his journey as a proud dental student.
He earned his BS and MS in Molecular Biology from East Carolina University and subsequently earned his Master’s degree in Biomedical Sciences from Barry University.
Furthermore, after earning his Master’s degree from Barry University, Markus earned his Doctor of Dental Medicine (D.M.D) from the ECU School of Dental Medicine.
He had just begun his General Practice Residency at The Ohio State University College of Dentistry, aspiring to become an orthodontist before his passing.
Before beginning his career as a Dentist, Markus Mosley won the hearts of many with his amazing sports journey at high school and college.
Dr. Markus Mosley Was a Former ECU and Garner Magnet High School’s Track and Field Star
Born on February 5, 1996, in Washington, D.C., to parents Theotric White and Lisa Mosley Bryant, Markus Mosley began his athletic journey at a very young age, excelling in multiple sports.
He went on to become a standout student-athlete at Garner Magnet High School, playing both track and field and football for the boys’ varsity team.
During his high school senior year, Markus qualified for the state meet in the hurdles, chopping nearly six seconds off his time throughout the season.
In addition to sprinting, Markus played as a strong safety for the boys’ football team and helped his team to the 4A state championship in his sophomore year.
He finished with 58 tackles as a junior and led the team in defensive scores as a senior.
Markus further continued his athletic career at East Carolina University, where he thrived as an outstanding track & field star.
During his sophomore year at ECU, Markus finished seventh in the 200-meter dash at the Dick Taylor Carolina Cup with a time of 24.22.
He also took sixth in the 60-meter hurdles at the Kent Taylor Invitational with a personal-best time of 8.69 and competed in the 100- and 200-meter dash events during the outdoor season, as well as the 110m hurdles.
Markus Mosley’s contributions to the Carolina community, both as an athlete and dentist, will always be remembered.
In addition to his parents, Markus Mosley is survived by his stepfather, Jemel Bryant; siblings McKenzie, Whitley, Theo, and Travis; grandparents; uncles; aunts; cousins; and the entire family.
His family will soon provide details about his funeral and memorial services.
