Georgia O’Connor’s Indomitable Spirit Outlives A System That Failed Her

Georgia O’Connor’s Boxxer promoter announced her passing on May 22, 2025. She was a fierce, courageous, and radiant soul whose light touched countless lives.

The daughter of Vicki Williams and John O’Connor, left this world far too soon after a valiant battle against a devastating illness.

Georgia was more than a patient; she was a warrior.

She fought tirelessly for answers when she first sensed something was wrong, only to be dismissed, gaslit, and failed by a system that should have protected her.

She endured excruciating pain for 17 agonizing weeks, pleading for scans, tests, and investigations, only to be told it was “all in her head.”

By the time her cancer was discovered, it had spread, compounded by life-threatening blood clots in her lungs. She refused to surrender to despair even in the face of such negligence.

She vowed to fight for every person who failed because of a broken system. Later, she channeled her rage into advocacy, using her voice to expose medical incompetence and demand accountability.

Despite suffering, she remained a beacon of strength, resilience, and unshakable spirit. Her family takes solace in knowing that her legacy will live on in the lives she touched and the change she demanded.

You spend years wishing your parents would get off your back, only to realise they’re the only ones who ever really had your back.

Georgia’s voice will not be silenced by the doctors who failed her and the system that allowed her suffering. Her fight continues in the hearts of those who loved her and in the justice movement she ignited.

Vicki Williams had organized a GoFundMe fundraiser to win the professional boxer’s biggest fight.

The O’Connor family will soon announce her celebration of life.
