Purdue basketball secured a significant commitment on Wednesday with the addition of 4-star guard Gicarri Harris.

Opting for Purdue over programs like Miami, LSU, and Virginia Tech, Harris is a considerable catch for Purdue in the 2024 cycle.

According to 247Sports Composite rankings, he stands as the No. 75 overall player and the No. 12 combo guard nationally in the class of 2024.

Additionally, he holds the No. 7 spot among players from Georgia.

Like any father, Gicarri’s dad has been a significant pillar of support for him since he was young.

In an interview with Prospective Insight, Gicarri expressed how his father consistently encourages him by advising, “Stay dedicated, maintain consistency, and continue to be yourself while playing your game. Keep putting in the hard work.”

Glenn Alan Robinson Jr., known as “Big Dog” and “The Chosen One,” is a former American professional basketball player.

He enjoyed a career spanning from 1994 to 2005 in the NBA, playing for several teams, including the Milwaukee Bucks, Atlanta Hawks, Philadelphia 76ers, and San Antonio Spurs.

Robinson began his basketball journey at Theodore Roosevelt High School in Gary, Indiana. During his time at school, his remarkable performances earned him the prestigious title of Indiana Mr. Basketball.

Upon graduating high school, Robinson pursued his basketball career at Purdue University under the guidance of coach Gene Keady.

His impactful presence at Purdue earned him the nickname “Big Dog” before even playing a game for the university.

Later, He was notably selected as the first overall pick in the 1994 NBA draft by the Milwaukee Bucks, becoming the first Boilermaker since Joe Barry Carroll in 1980 to receive this honour.

Gicarri’s family situation appears to be complex. He was born to Glenn and an unnamed mother, and it seems that his parents are no longer together. During an interview, Gicarri mentioned that he has siblings on both his mother’s and father’s sides.

One of his brothers from his mother’s side played basketball and attended Georgia State approximately seven years ago. Another older brother from his mother’s side switched from football to boxing.
