She was also a member of the inaugural FGCU sand volleyball squad. In 2012, She earned an A-Sun Preseason All-Conference selection.
Meyer became the Atlantic Sun Setter of the Year during her senior year. She led the conference with 11.57 assists per set as FGCU finished second in the A-Sun and went 19-11.

After she graduated from her University, Gisela thought her volleyball career was over. She wanted to continue her volleyball career.
Gisela wanted to compete even if she couldn’t take part in the court. She considered being a coach, following the footsteps of her father.
Gisela Meyer joined the FGCU volleyball staff as the coach after retiring as a player. Meyer said that she was happy to give back the University what she had for four years.

Gisella Meyer is best known as a volleyball player at the Florida Gulf Coast University volleyball team. But she has made a name for herself in the wakeboarding world as well.
Meyer is a professional wakeboarder and has won the Women’s A title at the NCAA wakeboarding championships in Shreveport, Los Angeles.
Gisella won the title by defeating a famous Wakeboarder, Shawna Hoffman, who had competed in the IWSF Wakeboard World Championships as a member of Team USA.
Gisella had never imagined winning at all. It was just her passion, and she participated in the competition with no intention to win.
How did she get into wakeboarding?
Meyer stated that her passion for wakeboarding started when she was 10 years old. That time her snowboarding had melted, and she went to try wakeboarding for the first time at a friend’s lake house.
She got hooked to it then after. So, when her parents were looking for a place to retreat near Gainesville. They thought of having a beach house, but Gisela convinced them to go with a lake house.
Gisela met Andy Wilcox, a former professional trick skier and a Gators booster who taught Meyer her first invert at 14. She amazed everyone with a black flip at 16.
When Gisela joined FGCU, Urban Meyer introduced her to the people who work at the waterfront. Gisela then joined FGCU’s wakeboarding club team.
She secured the fourth position in the Women’s A division of the Wake Games in 2010 and won the Lally’s Board Bash in Napolean, Ohio.
Meyer got herself a sponsor, Hyperlite, which provided her with boards, shorter and thinner surfing-like apparatuses with foot bindings.
