Godby High School mourned the tragic death of star athlete Brandon Holifield.

Brandon Holifield was a talented multi-sport athlete who graduated from Godby High School in 2012.

Standing 6 feet 5 inches tall and weighing 210 pounds, he was a standout basketball and football player in high school.

On the basketball court, he played as a power forward and wore jersey number 1.

In his sophomore season in 2009, he started making his mark with a 19-9 record, finishing first in the district.

As a junior in 2010, he helped his team to a 23-6 record and another district title with a 3-1 record.

During his senior year in 2011, the team achieved an outstanding record of 30 wins and only 3 losses, finishing first in their district with an 8-0 record.

On the football field, he played as a wide receiver and tight end, wearing jersey number 18.

Godby High Star Athlete Brandon Holifield Passed Away At The Age Of 31

Godby High star athlete Brandon Hollifield, 31, died in a single-vehicle crash early Friday, May 16, 2025, in Tallahassee.

As per Brandon’s family, the funeral service was held Saturday, May 31, 2025, at the Old West Florida Enrichment Center with burial in Greenwood Cemetery in Tallahassee.

He was laid to rest in the mortuary from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. Friday, May 30, 2025, at The Richardson Group Funerals and Cremations – Tallahassee.

Assistant General Manager at Jersey Mike’s Subs, AJ Fisher, took to his official Facebook handle and mourned the tragic death of Brandon. He wrote,

Tallahassee, Florida resident Darius Jones also took to his social media and offered heartfelt condolences to Brandon’s family by stating,

I have been trying to process this!!!! Spent so many hours with Brandon Holifield as we traveled across the Country as an athlete/coach duo. One of the most talented athletes that I have been blessed to coach. You will be missed. Rest In Heaven B. Prayers for Bernicia Holifield and the family. Coach Jones Love each of you.

Brandon Holifield Is Survived By His Mother, Brianna Holifield

Brandon Holifield was born on December 7, 1993, in Tallahassee, Florida, to his mother, Brianna Holifield, and his father, whose identity has not been revealed.

According to Brianna’s Facebook profile, she has been serving as a team lead at OPD, Walmart Tallahassee – N Monroe St since May 25, 2021.

On May 21, 2025, Brianna took to her Facebook handle to announce Brandon’s tragic death. She also thanked everyone for their prayers and support.

It is with profound sadness that we officially announce the passing of our beloved Son, father, brother, and friend, Brandon J. Holifield Sr. Brandon transitioned on May 16th, 2025. He will be deeply missed by all that knew him, and his memory will live on in our hearts forever. The announcement of funeral services will come at a later date. As of now, continue to keep our family and his friends lifted in prayer. We appreciate all the genuine outpour of love and support. Thank you, The family of BH💙
