The 6’6 Warriors’ power forward Gui Santos has shared several photos with his parents, Deivisson and Lucineide Santos, on his Instagram. The NBA player is a family man and the biggest supporter of his younger brother’s basketball career.
Santos, 22, born and raised in Brasilia, Brazil, declared for the NBA Draft in 2021.
But he later withdrew and decided he wasn’t ready. In the next year, he gained muscle and improved his vertical leap, and before the 2022 Draft, he had a workout with the Warriors.
The Warriors selected the Brazilian in the second round and decided he was the best fit for their G-League team, Santa Cruz Warriors.
After not appearing in a single game in the 2022 season for the main roster, Santos debuted for the Warriors on November 16, 2023, against the Thunders and scored two points.
In these past two seasons, Santos has made his way in and out of the Warriors’ roster.
But recently, the Brazilian made headlines with his 13-point performance against the Pistons.
He had another solid performance off the bench against the Pacers. He scored 11 points but couldn’t lead the side to victory, as the Pacers defeated the Warriors 108-96.
There is a solid chance that Gui will once again feature for the Warriors against the Raptors on January 13.
With the Warriors ready to shake the lineup and make trade moves, Gui has an opportunity to impress the front offices of various NBA teams.
Gui Santos Had His Parents Cheering For Him In Paris
Deivisson and Lucineide Santos cheered for their son at the Paris 2024 Olympics.
Gui shared a gallery of images from the Olympics a couple of weeks after Team Brazil played against Team USA in the quarter-finals.
Santos posted a snap of him guarding LeBron James and several photos of him with his family at Disneyland.
Gui, his parents, Deivisson and Lucineide Santos, his younger brother, Edu, and his girlfriend, Julia, posed in front of the Disneyland Animal Kingdom and Pandora Avatar-based land.
The Warriors’ forward isn’t the first one from his family to become a professional basketball player.
His parents, Deivisson and Lucineide Santos, were professional basketball players in their native land during their heyday.
Deivisson played for five years in the NBB, with his last season coming in 2012.
The former basketball player made it to the 2010 All-Star NBB team, helping Team Kanela defeat Team Pedroca 127-114.
After Gui played in the 2021 All-Star Game, the young talent and his dad sat down for an interview with LNB.
When asked how he feels seeing his son play in the All-Star game, Deivisson said,
I feel old, you know. Just kidding. The coolest thing of all is when Gui meets athletes who I used to play on the same team with, they tell me what I was like and say they’re going to take it out on him. It’s a really goo dreview that Gui brings to me and I remembers how cool it was. How times flies and how short the life of an athelte is.

Gui’s mom, Lucineide Santos, also played professionally, and a few of her games have been recorded on the FIBA Basketball website.
Currently, Gui’s younger brother, Eduardo Santos, plays for Corinthians Basquete’s youth team and previously played for the Minas.
Moreover, Eduardo is available on Instagram and has shared a few of his highlights.
The NBA Player Has Been In A Serious Relationship Since 2020
The young Warrior isn’t shy from showing his love for his girlfriend, Julia Lawrenz.
Julia accompanied Gui and his family to Paris and took several photos. Like her boyfriend, Julia is also an athlete.
She plays volleyball at the University of Hawai’i at Manoa and previously played indoor volleyball for two years at Florida Southwestern State College.
In 2022, she led Florida to its first-ever NJCAA national championship and was an all-conference player.
In 2024, Julia played in 21 matches but remained sidelined for the final 13 games of the season.
On her Instagram, Julia has shared several videos and photos with her NBA player boyfriend.
On December 26, 2024, Julia shared a Get Ready With Me video as the Warriors took on the Lakers.
Though Gui didn’t play for a single minute, Julia still wore the custom t-shirt she had made for her boyfriend.
The young couple also celebrated Christmas together and shared photos of them wearing matching PJs as they sat below their Christmas tree.
