Hamilton College Student-Athlete Rasikh Shaukat, 23, Passes Away By Suicide, Leaving His Parents In Grief!

Rasikh Shaukat, a biology major and track athlete from Irvington, New York, tragically passed away on May 21, 2025. As per the report, his cause of death was suicide.

Rasikh Shaukat began his collegiate journey at Hamilton College as a freshman in the 2021-22 academic year.

He then advanced to sophomore in 2022-23 and reached his junior year in 2023-24.

Rasikh Shaukat Was A Dedicated Hamilton College Student-Athlete!

Rasikh Shaukat was a student-athlete at Hamilton College, majoring in biology, and a dedicated member of the track and field team.

He was part of the Class of 2025 and was likely 23 years old when he passed away.

Originally from Irvington, New York, Rashik had a strong passion for running, and his teammates admired him for his hard work and leadership.

Before joining Hamilton College, Rasikh competed in track and field events in New York.

In 2024, he recorded a personal best of 17′ 11.75″ in the long jump. Likewise, he competed in sprint events at Hamilton College.

His dedication to the sport was evident in his performances, including a 100-meter sprint time of 11.97 seconds and a 200-meter sprint time of 24.53 seconds.

He also recorded a 400-meter sprint time of 55.70 seconds, all achieved in Section 1 of NYSPHSAA in New York.

Throughout his collegiate career, he participated in multiple invitational meets. His dedication to the sport was clear throughout his athletic career.

Rasikh Shaukat Had A Diverse Experience In Sports, Research, And Medicine!

As evident from his LinkedIn profile, Shaukat gained diverse experience through various roles during his time at Hamilton College and beyond.

He worked as a Sports Photographer for Hamilton College Athletics from December 2024 to May 2025.

He collaborated with lead photographer Josh McKee to capture and refine high-quality images of varsity athletic events for promotional use.

In addition, he was an active member of the Intramural Sports Committee from August 2024 to May 2025.

During the summer of 2024, Rasikh took on the role of Damashek Lab Research Fellow.

He also worked as a Medical Scribe in the Emergency Department at Rome Memorial Hospital from November 2023 to August 2024.

His passing has deeply affected the college community, with students and faculty coming together to honor his memory and offer support to those grieving.

Moreover, Hamilton College has provided counseling services to help students cope with this loss.

In his hometown of Irvington, New York, the community has come together to honor Rasikh’s memory. Also, many expressed their condolences and shared stories of his kindness and dedication.

Irvington Friends created the GoFundMe campaign titled “Support the Shaukat Family in Their Loss.”

The campaign aims to provide financial assistance to the Shaukat family, helping them navigate the unexpected challenges following Rasikh’s passing.
