Harry Eugene Russell, 92, of Fishers, passed away peacefully on May 15, 2025.
The longtime Indiana resident left behind a legacy of service, faith, and athletic passion that touched many lives throughout his nine decades.
Born on January 3, 1933, in Indianapolis to Byron and Elizabeth (Hundley) Russell, Harry built a life centered around family, faith, and community.
A proud graduate of Cathedral High School, he continued his education at Marian College, where he distinguished himself as a talented baseball player, earning athletic letters during his college career.

Harry demonstrated his patriotism through military service, proudly serving in the U.S. Army’s 3rd Infantry Division, known as the “Rock of the Marne,” from 1953 to 1955.
His commitment to duty and country formed the foundation for a life of dedication in all his endeavors.
On June 18, 1960, Harry married Jacqueline Codarmaz, beginning a remarkable partnership that spanned nearly 65 years.
Professionally, he built a 26-year career as a cost accountant with Chrysler Corporation before retiring in 1989.
Harry Russell’s Death Mourned In Fishers
Harry Russell lived his faith daily as a longtime member of Holy Spirit at Geist Catholic Church.
His dedication manifested through active participation in the church choir, serving as a reader, and fulfilling the role of extraordinary minister of Holy Communion.
Beyond his spiritual pursuits, Harry maintained an active lifestyle centered around his love for athletics.
He pursued tennis, pickleball, and table tennis with remarkable energy and enthusiasm throughout his life.
His connection to his alma mater remained strong as well, as he dedicated time to creating the newsletter for Cathedral High School’s Class of 1950, maintaining bonds with classmates across decades.

The Russell family will honor Harry’s life with a Mass of Christian Burial on Wednesday, May 21, 2025, at Holy Spirit at Geist Catholic Church, located at 10350 Glaser Way.
Friends and family are invited to pay their respects during the visitation period from 9:00 a.m. until the funeral mass begins at 11:00 a.m.
His final resting place will be at Our Lady of Peace Cemetery, 9001 Haverstick Road, Indianapolis.
Harry leaves behind his devoted wife, Jackie Russell, and their four children: Michael Patrick Russell (Lisa), Cathleen Ann Leganza (John), Mary Pat Maier (Jeff), and Angela Marie White (Drew).
His legacy continues through seven grandchildren and six great-grandchildren who will cherish his memory.
He joins his five brothers and three sisters who preceded him in death.
The family has requested that in lieu of flowers, memorial contributions be directed to Little Sisters of the Poor, 2345 W. 86th Street, Indianapolis, IN 46260.
