Former college football player turned sportscaster, Kirk Herbstreit, has two siblings: an elder brother named John Herbstreit and a sister named Teri Holmes.
Not much is out there about John; however, Kirk has said on a few podcasts that John is the quiet one in the family and stays away from the spotlight.
Unlike John, Teri doesn’t stay lowkey. She is someone who has spent her entire career in marketing and communications around Dayton, Ohio.
She has a blog named “Streit Talk” where she shares about anything thats on her mind.
Teri has written a lengthy post on the blog titled “My Brother Kirk, the Hardest Working Guy I Know,” in September 2022.
She started the blog directly by appreciating him for all the obvious reasons, which reads:
He is my brother and I have always been proud of him, but not for the reasons you may think. He is more sincere and puts in more effort than anyone I know.
Teri Holmes
In the blog, she wrote about growing up in Centerville, Ohio. She told about how Kirk was the baby of the family, and how their dad coached all three kids in different sports.

Teri wrote that he is the hardest worker she has ever known, not because he is famous, but because he never half-does anything. He stays up all night studying depth charts, flies across the country twice in one day, and still finds time to come home for his own son’s high school games.
In fact, she thinks most people have no idea how much he prepares just to make three hours on Saturday morning look easy to watch.
Teri loves that Kirk is exactly the same guy off camera as he is on it. He jokes around, he gets emotional, he respects everybody he works with, and he still calls her when he needs to talk something through. She laughs harder with him than with anyone else.
After Teri’s blog post, he retweeted it and just wrote, “Love you sis. Dad would be proud.”
Teri Holmes Boasts an Experience of Over 3 Decades in Marketing and Communications!
Teri Holmes has spent her whole career in marketing and communications around Dayton, Ohio.
She started in the early 1990s doing media relations at Miami Valley Hospital, writing press releases and getting the hospital on national shows like 20/20.
After that, she moved to The Iams Company, where she ran all the cat-food promotions and helped sales jump two to four times with every campaign she put together.

In the late 1990s, she worked at a small agency, then from 2000 to 2017, she and her husband ran their own property management company while she handled all the marketing and operations.
When that chapter ended, Teri went to ACCO Brands. She spent five years at ACCO, first running the editorial team and later as marketing manager.
After a short stop at Corbus in 2023-2024, doing content and lead generation, she took the job she has now, i.e., Marketing and Communications Manager at Washington-Centerville Public Library.
