Arden Key Jr., the Tennessee Titans’ linebacker, and his parents, Arden Key Sr. and Nicole Spencer, have played a key role in supporting their only son on his Sports Journey.

Arden Key has been a key contributor on the defensive line for the Tennessee Titans for the last couple of seasons.

While the 29-year-old is yet to contribute to the national team, his performance with the Nashville-based football team speaks louder than words.

The Titan’s Linebacker had one hell of a season for 2024, with 42 total tackles, 6.5 sacks, and 18 quarterback pressures.

Arden Key Shares the Same Athletic Blood as His Father

Arden Key Sr has been a greater inspiration for his son, even though their sports journey is different.

While Arden Key stands out as a Football Player, having over 100 senior career appearances, his father was into Basketball.

The Key Sr. played as a point guard and Shooting Guard for Jacksonville State University, a public University located in Alabama.

Nontheless, the father influenced the Professional Linebacker’s early career days by shaping his discipline and supporting him during the tough times.

Back in 2017, too, when Arden Key Jr was struggling with his fitness (due to shoulder injury), personal issues, and was just back for LSU, the father hoped it was a “Rebirth” for the young footballer, which seems pretty accurate if we look at his emerging career path. The Father also added;

“It was time to take time away from football. He lost himself. He had so much success early. All the pressures of being a student athlete. We forget he’s still a kid trying to balance life out. It was all coming down on him”

The father also discussed the personal issues the footballer faced at the time, the challenges the family encountered, and even his avoidance of Jeopardy during his youth.

The 6’5″ Defensive player is not only a huge admirer of Father, but also his other Parent, Nicole Spencer, thanks to her love and support through the good and bad times.

Even though the mom isn’t from a Sports background like Key Sr. and Jr., or four sets of twins from the Key family, many of whom were involved in basketball, she still played a greater role in shaping the defender’s career.

Key also shared an emotional post on his mother’s 56th birthday, expressing his love for her and thanking the Lord for choosing her to be his mother.

In Case You Didn’t Know

  • Both of Arden Key’s Parents are from Atlanta, Georgia. The NFL Linebreaker was also born and raised in that area.
  • Key Jr. started his football career at Hapeville Charter Career Academy in Georgia.
  • The player’s NFL journey began with the Oakland Raiders after being selected in the 3rd round of the 2018 NFL Draft.
